The Fremantle Dockers

September 4, 2006 - Well, AFL finals fever has hit the City of Fremantle! The Fremantle Dockers have surged into the finals, winning their last nine games and positioning themselves third on the ladder. So, being a mad Essendon Bombers supporter for more than a decade, I thought since I have now moved to Fremantle, I'd go down to the Fremantle Oval and see what all the fuss was about at the Dockers' last public training day this week.

As you can see from the photos, there was quite a showing from their faithful supporters. There are a lot of people, and not all of them Freo supporters, who are hoping the Dockers can win their first finals match in their short history this weekend against the Crows. If they do, they'll have a week off, advancing to a preliminary final with 10 straight wins under their belt and, from there, who knows what they can do...

GO THE BOMBERS!! Well...for the time being, I suppose it's CARN FREO!!

*Since this post includes multiple photos that were not taken from the same vantage point, I have not included the usual vantage point coordinates for Google Earth but rather the coordinates for the Fremantle Oval.
